Only need a donor database, lowest price
Little Green Light starts at $45/month for up to 2,500 records, with unlimited users. It is a donor database, so you will use other tools for the rest.
A plain guide for small teams. What to look for, a checklist to use on any demo, and what seven well-known options cost at three sizes, wherever the company publishes a price, using each company's own pages. HelpOne is one of the seven, and we say where it fits and where it doesn't.
Pricing as of Oct 2026. Check each company's site before you decide. Jump to the price-by-size table.

There is no single best tool. The right one depends on how big your list is, who will run it, and whether donors are your only job. Here is where each kind of option tends to fit.

Bloomerang, Neon CRM and Virtuous are built around fundraising. Each lists tools such as online giving, email and reporting. Ask each for a quote at your size.
Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud can be shaped to almost any process. Eligible nonprofits get 10 free Core licenses. Plan time or a partner for setup and upkeep.
DonorPerfect lists Constant Contact email built in, donation forms, volunteer tracking and grant tools, in Core, Plus and Pro tiers. Pricing is by quote.
HelpOne covers donors, volunteers, events, HR, finances and your board for $299/month, with unlimited users and contacts. It is not a specialist fundraising CRM.
Use the checklist below on two or three demos. Price your own size, not the cheapest plan on the page.
Some tools charge by record count, some by revenue, some by user, some by module. Pick the one that stays fair as you grow. Little Green Light charges by records, Neon CRM by revenue, Salesforce by user.
Donor records and gifts are the basics. Check whether volunteers, events, memberships, email and reports are included or sold as add-ons.
Per-user pricing adds up as staff, board members and volunteers need access. Several tools list unlimited users. Check, and ask what “user” means.
Ask who sets it up, who keeps it clean, and how long training takes. A powerful tool nobody has time to maintain does not help a small team.
You should be able to export every record and cancel without a penalty. Ask about contract length and cancellation before you sign.
Look at support hours and channels, and whether help moving your old data is free, paid or self-serve.
Ask every company the same ten questions and write the answers down. It makes the choice much easier.

You run volunteers, events, staff, a board and the books as well as fundraising, and you would rather have one login and one price. It covers donor records, gifts, pledges, auctions, sponsorships and giving statements, volunteer sign-up with waivers and shifts, events with free RSVPs and QR codes, nonprofit financial statements, Form 990 and CHAR500 auto-filled, board portal and votes, and HR onboarding with e-sign.
You only need a donor database and want the lowest monthly price, or you need specialist fundraising tools such as peer-to-peer campaigns or predictive donor insights. Little Green Light starts lower than HelpOne, and Bloomerang, Neon CRM and Virtuous list specialist fundraising features.
If you pay for separate tools for donors, volunteers, events, HR, board and accounting, the total is about $1,500 a month on average (our estimate; yours will differ). Add up your own list and compare it with $299/month. For a closer look at one option, see HelpOne vs Bloomerang, the Neon CRM alternative, Little Green Light alternative and Salesforce nonprofit alternative pages, or the full comparison.

It is a database for the people who support your nonprofit. It keeps each person's contact details, gifts, pledges, notes and communication history in one record, so your team can thank donors, send receipts and see who gives and how often. Some tools stop there. Others add online giving forms, events, volunteers and accounting.
On published prices, Little Green Light starts lowest: $45/month for up to 2,500 constituent records (pricing as of Oct 2026, on its own pricing page). It is a donor database, so volunteers, events, HR and accounting would need other tools. Salesforce gives eligible nonprofits 10 free Nonprofit Cloud Core licenses through its Power of Us program, but setup and upkeep take more work.
Published starting prices for donor databases run from about $45 to $125 a month for a small list. The total grows with record count, revenue, users or modules, depending on the company. Add anything you buy separately, such as volunteer, event, accounting and board tools, and the monthly total is often much higher. Check each company's pricing page for your size.
If fundraising is your main job and you already have good tools for everything else, a donor CRM may be all you need. If you also run volunteers, events, staff, a board and the books, an all-in-one system can mean fewer logins, no duplicate records and one bill. HelpOne is built for the second case.
No. If you only need a donor database and want the lowest price, Little Green Light starts lower. If you want a donor CRM with deep fundraising tools such as peer-to-peer campaigns or predictive insights, look closely at Bloomerang, Neon CRM or Virtuous. HelpOne fits best when you want donors, volunteers, events, HR, finances and your board in one login at one price.

Ask what sets the price (records, revenue, users or modules), what is an add-on, whether there is a contract, and who charges payment processing fees. Then price your own size, not the cheapest plan on the page.
